Chip Cards
Chip Cards are making a safe payment system even safer.

A chip card is a credit or debit card containing an embedded computer chip, which gives the card the ability to store and process data.

When using your chip card to make a purchase, it will remain in the merchant's terminal for the duration of the transaction, rather than bieing 'swiped' through. As always, you will enter your PIN and follow the prompts to complete your transaction. At an ATM you'll notice no difference at all.

You will automatically receive your Member Card chip card in the mail once your card has been identified for conversion to chip. For enchanced security, you will be issued a new PIN in a separate mailer.

Magnetic stripe will co-exist with chip card technology to allow you to use your Member Card debit card at non-chip-enabled terminals until 2015. In non-chip-enabled terminals, you will swipe your card and enter your PIN the way you do now.

You can keep using your current card until you receive your new chip card.

Remember to shield your PIN from prying eyes, never give it away and don't write it down in your purse or wallet.

One of the easiest ways to make a difference to the environment is to reduce the amount of paper you use and receive. We now offer the option to combine your single and joint accounts into one statement, as well as going paper-less by switching to E-Statements (electronic statements). By using MemberDirect Internet Banking to view your statements, pay bills and make other transactions, you’ll be saving not only time, but trees, water and energy. We also offer CubyPhone, where you can obtain account information and pay bills anytime.

• E-Statements look the same as paper statements and offer you even more value, convenience and security with anytime-anywhere access

• Reduce clutter. Starting September 19, 2009, the date of our conversion to our current banking system, CCU will provide up to seven years of statement archiving from date of issue. You will have access to your archived statements, no need to print or file statements.

• It’s FREE! E-Statements will be offered as a free service for members with access to MemberDirect Internet Banking. For those members not currently signed up for MemberDirect Internet Banking, please contact your branch. Members requesting a print-out of their e-Statement from a Front line staff will incur a service charge.

• View your statement earlier than by mail. Your statement should be available to view within four business days of the cut-off date, but could be available in as little as two days!

• Access is easy. If you are currently a MemberDirect Internet Banking user, you already have access to this secure and environmentally friendly version of your statement. Just click on the E-Statements menu button, on the left of the webpage.

• Suppress your paper statement and remove the risk of mail-theft, a common form of identity theft. E-Statements can only be accessed through Community’s MemberDirect Internet Banking, which is password protected.

To discontinue receiving paper statements, download the Discontinue Paper Statements Agreement. To combine single and joint accounts into one statement, download the Request to Add Single to Joint Account Statement form. Drop off, mail, or fax your completed form to any Community Credit Union branch.

New Security Feature!
Increased Authentication features will be added to the MemberDirect login process on May 29, 2012. These features provide an additional layer of protection against phishing scams.

- How it works

When you log into online banking from a computer that is not registered as trusted, you will have to answer one of your three security questions. You will then view your image and phrase, then enter your PAC. Do not enter your PAC if the wrong image is shown as this could indicate a security issue. Contact your branch if this happens.

- Registering your computer for faster logins

You can speed up the login process by opting to register your computer. When you log in from a registered computer, you don't have to answer a security question before viewing your personal image and entering your PAC.

Registering your home or personal computer is highly recommended for faster logins. You should not register shared or public computers.

Cookies are used to identify registered computers. If you clear your cookies, you will have to re-register your computer.
